Uranite is a type of Ore block. Mining it requires at least an Iron Pickaxe and yields 1 Uranite ore block. Smelting Uranite will give a piece of Uranium, which can then be crafted into Uranium Pellets for a Nuclear Reactor. Uranium is also used to craft Glowstone Dust with Phosphorus and Sulphur. Uranite gives off a luminescent glow, as well as neon green particles, making it easier to spot some in a wall.
